Legend of Zelda

One day during my college years, I found my old NES in the garage. After dusting it off (inside & out; the latter being painful to my allergies) I scrounged ebay for games I never owned. Legend of Zelda was a glorious $5, and I was excited upon receiving that shiny gold cartridge in the mail.

Admittedly, I didn’t have a whole lot of time in college to perfect my skills. But now, nearly four years later, the gold cartridge has found its way back into my console.

I cannot stop playing. Perhaps it’s a good thing I didn’t own this game during my childhood, because my chores, homework, and sleep would have suffered. Every time my boyfriend calls and asks, “What are you up to?” the answer is, “playing Zelda.” Of course, the perks of having a fellow geek as a boyfriend is him asking which special weapons I’ve found (and being proud) and teasing me for not being able to locate certain levels.

When he brought up Ocarina of Time, I immediately logged into the Wii store. It was tempting, but I have yet to invest in the classic controller so I wouldn’t be able to play. Luckily he has his N64, so I know exactly what will occur upon my next visit.

For days I have fallen asleep with images of little circular trees and leevers emerging from the sand. That’s right. I just looked up its name.

  1. If you have a Gamecube controller, you can use that on N64 Virtual Console games bought from the Wii Store :)

  2. I don’t, but I did end up buying the classic controller. It’s pretty neat. Still boggles my mind that it has a wire and doesn’t actually plug into the system, though :P

  3. i love to play all day on my gamecube. ;*-

  4. I like both the Gamecube and Xbox, we have them in our home office and also in our living room.~’”
