Soundtrack 2009

For the seventh year running, I have completed another installment in my “soundtrack” series. Basically, it’s a jumble of songs from a particular year that I couldn’t stop listening to. They don’t have to be released that year, I just have to find them.

I slacked off a little this year. And judging by my track listing, it is obvious I acquired… well, other interests in 2009. And by the way, this collection is so random that I had the world’s most difficult time with transitions (in conclusion, they’re all bad. It’s just not possible). You can tell I spent many years in the past on mixed CDs, seeing I’m stressing over this.

Anyway. Presenting: Soundtrack 2009 (I haven’t even made the cover art yet. This is how behind I am).

1. Koji Kondo: Legend of Zelda theme (orchestral)
2. The Juliana Theory: The Final Song
3. Cursive: Bad Sects
4. Glee Cast: Alone (Heart cover)
5. Muse: Uprising
6. The Mars Volta: Cavalettas
7. Adele: Hometown Glory
8: Reverse Osmosis: Nintendapella

That’s actually better than I expected, considering how much I slacked off in my musical obsession. Ordinarily I have a full track listing. But the pasts few years I’ve been able to say, “at least it’s not 2006.” That was a 5-track year. Pathetic, really. I have no excuse. I was even unemployed most of that year.

One Response to “Soundtrack 2009”

  1. [...] The Mars Volta: The Bedlam in Goliath (also: De-Loused In the Comatorium) Another one of those artists that I should just admit belong on my “favorites” list. I actually hadn’t realized I listen to this album as often as I do. But when I’m sitting on the train, and flipping through the albums on the iPod, I’ve actually said, “okay, not this one. Again.” And then select it anyway. The song Cavalettas has a pretty high play count, especially since it appeared on Soundtrack 2009. [...]
